Home Finance is a private application used by one household. These terms describe what it does and on what basis it is used.
What it does
It reads the balances and transaction history of bank accounts that the household owns and has explicitly authorised, through Enable Banking's Account Information Service, and uses them to keep a household budget.
What it does not do
It cannot initiate payments or move money; no such capability exists in the application. It cannot access accounts that have not been authorised. It has no analytics and no telemetry.
Who may use it
Only the two members of the household, who sign in with their Google accounts. There is no registration and no other way in.
Authentication with the bank
Members authenticate directly with their bank. The application never asks for, sees or stores banking credentials. Consent is granted through the bank's own strong customer authentication and can be withdrawn there at any time.
Third-party services
Bank access is provided by Enable Banking Oy, a registered account information service provider supervised by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority; use of its API is additionally governed by its terms at https://auth.enablebanking.com/terms. The application is hosted by Vercel and its database by Neon.
No warranty
The application is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Bank data may be incomplete, delayed or amended by the bank after retrieval. The bank's own statements are the authoritative record.
Source code
The application's source code is kept in a private repository. It descends from the open-source tool openbanking-sync, published under the MIT licence.
